The new Mountain States Regional Office is the first of 4 office buildings is anticipating in a new business park in Greeley, CO. Phase One consists of a three-story 150,000 square foot office building and a large surface parking lot. As a regional location, the design is an open office cubicle layout together with some private offices. The project is a negotiated design assist in association with the design team of Ellerbe Becket in Minneapolis. Construction is slated to begin in April 2000 with Hensel Phelps as the general contractor. We are currently involved in the Preconstruction phase, which involves meetings every two weeks and several trend-pricing scenarios to balance the owners’ wishes with budget constraints.

The current design includes a 3000 Amp service with 480V, 3-Phase, 4W distribution to each floor. The mechanical design includes a central plant on the roof, although the chillers have been relocated to the first floor. Our scope of work also includes installing a state-of-the-art security system, sound/music system, fire alarm, emergency generator, and lightning protection. The site electrical design is very interesting, and includes not only the parking lots but also extensive walkway lighting. An employee gathering area/meeting place provides custom pole lights and power and data outlets to tie into the building network for laptop access.
