Pepsi Center Arena

"Ludvik Electric Co. honored to be the Electrical Subcontractor of choice"
The 675,000 square foot Pepsi Center Arena is being built on 52-acres of the Central Platte Valley between Elitch Gardens and the Tivoli Center with a scheduled completion date to be the first Hockey game of the 1999 2000 season. The site provides not only the arena which consists of 18,129 hockey seats, 19,309 basketball seats and 20,100 concert seats, but also a 150,000 square foot office building, a 64,000 square foot restaurant/specialty retail store and a 5,000 square foot convenience store/gas station. Additional amenities include a pedestrian walkway connecting to Elitch Gardens, a full size NBA practice court and cutting edge sound and lighting systems.
Ludvik was chosen to install the electrical service consisting of five 4000 Amp services to four building quadrants (one service is for the Central Plant Facilities);and two emergency generators one 1,000 KW and one 1,250 KW. The Sports and House Lighting will be fully microprocessor controlled which is multi-tasking and may be preset for various event dates scheduled throughout the year including Basketball, Hockey and Concerts. The NBA Locker Room will have its own custom electronic dimming system and neon accent lighting. A state-of-the-art sound system along with the security system, which will control access to all areas of the Arena through a Card Access System, including CCTV monitoring of the facility and site, will be incorporated. Ludvik will be installing Fiber Optic and Communication cabling throughout the project for Telecommunications, Tele/Data, and LAN systems for the NBA, NHL, Concessions, Security, Building Engineering and Ticketing.
In addition to these services, Ludvik will incorporate 120 miles of conduit, 569 miles of wire, 13,000 fixtures and 280 panels.
In keeping with its logic to pursue the spirit of partnering with the minority community, Ludvik selected minority and women owned businesses as partners during the bid process. They have been part of the project team from that time forward. The participants are St. Andrews Electric, The Sheflin Group, Neo-Source, The Latuda Group and American Industrial Supply Company. This type of relationship also allowed Ludvik to exceed the project goals for MBE/WBE participation. We, at Ludvik, are proud to meet the intent of the MBE/WBE Program, as well as, and more importantly, the spirit of the Program.
