Echostar Broadcast Center Addition

This fast track project, valued at $5.6 million dollars electrically, is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming and is an addition to the existing Echostar Broadcast Center. It is intended to add support for the forecasted one million users of the Echostar Broadcast System. The new addition consists of an upper level, lower level, interstitial level and also an attached Satellite Tracker Building for a total of 57,660 square feet. Alternate 1, adds a second floor, and is approximately 12,600 square feet. In addition to the main building there is an outlying generator building which is 3,600 square feet. This facility will support ten new 13.5m satellites dishes.
The main electric room is located on the lower level of the building and contains the three 1000KVA UPS modules, the critical load switchgear, the power transition switchgear and the system control gear. Adjacent to this room is the battery room, which contains three racks of one hundred twenty three batteries each. The generator building houses the three 1200kva generators.
The main building structure consists of pre-stress concrete floor and roof members with pre-cast tilt up wall construction. The interstitial level is comprised of suspended metal grating from the lower level ceiling. The Tracker Building is cast-in-place concrete and will have an antenna mounted directly on top which tracks the location of the satellites. The generator building is comprised of steel framing and tilt up construction.
