DENVER HEALTH HOSPITAL – WESTERN/ADDITION

Denver Health Hospital

Denver, Colorado

Description of Work:

The Denver Health Hospital – Western Addition consisted of a basement with patient rooms (a secured, lock-down facility) to be run by the Denver Sheriff’s Department; 1st floor – administration offices, exam rooms, x-ray rooms, etc.; 2nd floor MICU – emergency intensive care unit consisting of patient rooms with medical apparatus mounted over beds to actually perform operations in patient rooms (this equipment have their own electrical controls, gas, tools, etc.); 3rd floor – patient rooms with intensive care units; the 4th floor – standard patient rooms; and the Penthouse which contains the mechanical and elevator equipment.

Ludvik Electric Co. supplied the distribution (normal, emergency, and critical) lighting, fire alarm, nurse calls, and electrical equipment for this new addition, along with the CUP (Critical Utility Plant), which is the Denver Health's own self-standing generator.

All work was performed on an operating hospital.  Construction was closely coordinated with the Hospital Facilities Department and other craft disciplines.
